Is Markly free?
The basic version is completely free, including WYSIWYG editing, source mode, 10+ diagram engines, KaTeX math, and limited access to AI (20 requests/day), export (5/day), image hosting (10 uploads/day), and file encryption (5 files). Pro removes all limits.
Does the AI feature require internet?
Yes, the AI chat assistant and floating toolbar require an internet connection to call LLMs. Your document content is only sent during conversations and is never stored.
Is file encryption secure?
We use AES-256-GCM encryption with PIN protection. Keys exist only in memory and are destroyed when the app closes, keeping your notes safe and private.
Which platforms are supported?
Currently available on macOS 13.0 and above. Windows and Linux versions are in development and coming soon.
